Cookie policy
Effective date: June 2026
This is a short page, because there is not much to disclose. The only optional cookies we set are Google Analytics cookies, and only if you accept them on the cookie banner. Decline, or ignore the banner, and no analytics cookie is set. Separately, when you submit the contact form, our hosting provider's bot-detection service may set a short-lived security cookie to tell humans from bots. Security cookies of this kind are strictly necessary and exempt from consent requirements.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
When you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to count visits and tell returning visitors from new ones. They expire up to about two years after your last visit. We do not enable Google's advertising features, so these cookies are not used to build ad profiles. Until you accept, no Google Analytics script loads and none of these cookies are set.
Changing your mind
Your choice is remembered in your browser so we do not ask on every visit. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings: the banner reappears and you can choose again. Declining removes the analytics cookies on your next visit.
localStorage
The site stores one item in your browser's localStorage: your choice on the cookie banner, so it does not ask again. It lives on your device and is never sent to us. If we ever add remembered preferences (for example a country choice for UK versions of the calculators), they would live there too and never be sent to us.
If this ever changes
If the site ever needs to set a new kind of cookie (for example, if advertising were added), we would, before any such cookie is set:
- Update this page to list each cookie, its purpose, and how long it lasts.
- Update the privacy policy to match.
- Ask for your consent where the law requires it, before any optional cookie loads.
