Sara's Sustainable Notes

Today:
I chose a dual flush toilet for my new flat.
Everyday:
I am anti-bottled water - if Alice Waters can drink from the tap so can I. My very sustainably minded boyfriend gave me a lovely Sigg water bottle (better than Nalgene because it's not used in animal testing and it's not plastic) which I carry everywhere with me. It's the envy of all my friends. Today I made a big decision - I will no longer buy ice cream at ice cream shops if I've brought a reusable container and spoon along. Or I'll get it in a cone. Or I'll make my own.
Tomorrow:
Off the coast of British Columbia, where my address is the name of the island.

Sara;

I live in what is now known as "SOWA" a polite name for the otherside of the South End. My garden is in the West Springfield plot because I live on East Springfield (near City Hospital). I happened to have a neighbor who told me about a plot that was available. We might have openings in our garden, but there are probably some over closer to you that are available. Here is the link that I found for the South End/Lower Roxbury Open Space Land Trust (SELROSLT)http://www.southend.org/tiki-index.php?page=South+End+Lower+Roxbury+Open+Space+Land+Trust

This is just one source, I am certain there are others. I can put you in touch with the treasurer of our garden, if you want more info...

Thanks also for the information concerning SIGGS bottles. I am weaning myself from the bottle water habit, but love seltzer...may get a Mr. Soda one of these days! ;) kim
