Rue Koegelunfortunately my father doesn't use the net enough to get together with other edgewood, or abq, freecyclers. he doesn't even have e-mail. but i'm working on that. i don't write letters myself, so when i'm somewhere else in the country we often lose touch. it's a real shame that a lot of people just hit an age where they stop changing, at least intentionally. Judith PierHi Rue! Working on my adult children with some baby steps in the right direction. I have always called my own stubbornness "persistence" to keep the reluctant at bay. My dad is 92 and will never change either. Runs air conditioning in Texas to get both cool and fresh air. Sigh. Goodwill does sell and dump many items, so I only use them in an emergency. Maybe your dad would use Freecycle. I do this because it redistributes things and somebody who wants them comes to pick up. I am a frugal green granny driving as little as possible.
